How to Book a Luxury Resort in Turks and Caicos for a Huge Discount!

Turks and Caicos Islands has been seen all over the internet has one of the most popular travel destination spots due to its beautiful beaches and some of the most turquoise water. It is also known to be a pretty expensive island to travel to. We will show you how you can book one of its luxury resorts for a significant discount!

Option #1: Using Hilton Honors Credit Card Sign-On Bonuses for Rewards Nights and Points

Overview

The first method we will get into is taking advantage of Hilton Honors welcome bonuses from its American Express co-branded credit cards. This is the best method to get a lot of Hilton Points without spending a large amount of money! If you have someone that you will be traveling with, they too can use this strategy to rack up the necessary amount of points it will take to book at least 5 nights at the resort in Turks and Caicos. If one person will only be utilizing this method or if you are a solo traveler, you can alternatively use this option in combination with buying points to obtain the required amount of points to book the amount of nights for the resort!

Method

The personal Hilton Honors credit cards and business credit card are listed below:

Hilton Honors Co-Branded Credit Cards (American Express)

We will show you the proper steps for this method to maximize your point accumulation through Hilton Honors welcome bonuses:

  1. First, you should apply for the lowest tier card (Hilton Honors credit card) and hit the minimum spend ($2,000 in the first 6 months) to get 80,000 Hilton Honors points.
  2. After you hit the bonus on the Hilton Honors, you will want to move to the Hilton Surpass credit card, which is the mid-tier card and hit the minimum spend ($3,000 in 6 months) for the Surpass to earn another 130,000 points.
  3. Finally, you will want to apply for the highest tier card (Hilton Aspire) and hit its minimum spend ($6,000 in 6 months) to earn 150,000 points. Be sure to hit the Surpass minimum spend first before applying for the last card (unless you are able to hit both spends quickly).
  4. At the end of the minimum spends, you will have a total of (at least) 393,000 points, which includes 360,000 from bonuses + at least 33,000 from x3 points on all spend on Hilton Honors credit cards (80,000 + 130,000 + 150,000 + $11,000 x 3 points).
  5. You will repeat this sequence with a second traveler applying for only the first two cards (Hilton Honors and Surpass) to get an additional (at least) 225,000 points towards the end the minimum spends and obtaining all of the bonuses and point multipliers (80,000 + 130,000 + $5,000 x 3 points).
  6. You will have your fellow traveler pool their points with you through bonuses and spend to combine all of the points to get a total of 618,000 points! You can pool points to your travel partner using this link. Pooling points is free, and it is a work around gifting points, which now costs a fee.
  7. Once you have all of the points in one person’s account, go into Hilton Honors and find the property: Point Grace Resort and Spa, an SLH Hotel.

You will need to find dates at this property where there are 5 nights in a row with standard room availability (130,000 points per night). Here you can see on the calendar for January 2026, as an example, that there is a ton of availability for a standard room of 5 nights in a row! Select one of the dates in any month, costing 130,000 points per night, that will work for your own travel schedule:

Standard Rooms at this property are 130,000 points per night!

From here you will want to choose a standard room (130,000 points), either Poolside 1 Bedroom Suite or Pool View Cottage 1 Bedroom Suite.

Finally, you will be able to book your stay for only 520,000 points! A fifth free night will automatically be applied due to Hilton’s “fifth night free benefit” when you have at least Silver Status. You can actually redeem an additional night (with the Hilton Aspire free standard reward night benefit) on top of your 5 night stay, making it a 6 night stay!

You will earn a fifth night free on reward stays (4 nights booked with points) with at least Silver Status!

Total Cost

The total cost to implement the credit card welcome bonus method is estimated with the following fees you should expect:

  • No annual fee from the Hilton Honors Credit Card (x2).
  • $300 ($150 x 2) annual fee from the Hilton Honors Surpass Credit Card (x2).
  • $550 annual fee from the Hilton Honors Aspire Credit Card (x1).

The total cost of all of the annual fees from the opened credit cards to get the point bonuses will come out to $850! If you were to actually go to book the same resort with the same room type, the total cost would come out to $7,280.91! This means you are effectively getting almost a 90% discount off this resort! Additionally if you applied the free standard reward night with the Hilton Honors Aspire, you would be getting a 90% discount off this resort for 6 nights!

Nights on 1/6/26 through 1/10/26 for the same room type would cost $7,280.91 when booking cash!

These are some disclaimers to note when talking about credit cards:

  • NEVER carry a balance on any credit card!  We do not (and never will) advise you to go into credit card debt for this strategy!
  • Keep in mind your financial situation when going for a card member bonus.  Please only spend on purchases that you would have otherwise made already!  We would recommend saving this strategy for an already planned big future purchase that you are able to put on a credit card (wedding costs, tuition, furniture, etc.).
  • Always follow the terms and conditions of American Express.  Keep your cards open for at least one year before making any decision to cancel.  Attempting to “game” the system will blacklist you from American Express.
  • Keep in mind of American Express “pop-up jail” (American Express may inform you that you will not qualify for another sign-up bonus when applying past your first Amex credit card).  This is Amex’s way of suppressing the amount of rewards offered to you, and usually time will resolve it.  You may have to adjust this strategy for the longer-term if you run into this issue.

FAQ Section

  • How to Combine Hilton Points Between Two Accounts?: You will need to pool points between you and your travel partner to stack the total amount of points to use the fifth night free benefit!  Pooling points is completely free. We would not reccomend the “gift points” option as it now costs a fee to transfer between Hilton accounts.
  • How to Earn “Fifth Night Free” Benefit?: The fifth night free benefit is available to Hilton Honors Silver, Gold, or Platinum status.  The Hilton Honors American Express card will give you automatic Silver status while the Hilton Honors Surpass American Express card will give you automatic Gold status! Additional ways of earning the required Hilton Honors status is through:
    • Holding the American Express Platinum card (complimentary Gold status)
    • Having T-Mobile Magenta status (complimentary Silver status)
    • Requesting a status match with Hilton Honors (for Gold status) if you have a similar status tier with another loyalty program (good for 90 days).
  • Why is the Point Redemption Much More Expensive?: This method will only work with standard rewards nights.  If you see dates costing more than the specified point redemption amount, this means that a standard rewards night is not available at the property on the specified date.  Having four people on the reservation will probably be much more difficult to find standard rates versus only having two people on the reservation.
  • Unable to Purchase Hilton Points?: You will be able to purchase Hilton points after 90 days of opening a Hilton Honors account (free to sign up) or 30 days with qualifying account activity (booking hotel stays, earning Hilton Honors points, or redeeming Hilton Honors points)
  • Do Hilton Points Expire?: Hilton Honors points do expire after 24 months of inactivity (be sure to either reserve nights, earn points through Hilton spend or Hilton Honors credit card spend, or redeem your points to keep your points from expiring)
  • Do Hilton Free Night Certificates Expire?: Hilton reward night certificates will only be good for one year.  You may have the option to extend the rewards night for up to two weeks past the expiration date via customer service chat.  Additional extensions may be granted if you directly call customer service, but these are not the standard.  Keep this in mind when having to hit your minimum spend for the credit card sign-on bonuses because you will need to take account of time with the expiration dates of your rewards nights.
  • How to Redeem Hilton Free Night Certificates?: You will need to call Hilton Customer service to redeem your rewards nights, and they will be able to merge any separate reservations that you booked with points.
  • Why Do I Have a Different Amex Hilton Honors Welcome Bonus?: American Express welcome bonuses are also usually targeted, so your welcome bonus offers may be different. It may take some time to be able to implement this strategy. If you are lucky, sometimes cards will include a free night certificate in addition to the large point bonus that you receive after hitting the minimum spend!
  • Why Don’t I Qualify For a Second Hilton Honors Welcome Bonus?: To qualify for an additional sign-on bonus, be sure to apply for the lowest tier Hilton card first, then apply for the mid-tier (Surpass) second, and finally the high-tier (Aspire) last.  American Express has a family card sign-up bonus restriction, meaning that if you have received a higher sign-on bonus from one of the cards in that “family” (Hilton Honors co-branded credit cards) you no longer qualify for a sign-on bonus from a lower-tier card. Additionally, see the disclaimers above regarding Amex “pop-up jail”.

Option #2: Buying Hilton Honors Points to Redeem Rewards Nights

Overview

The second option, which would be much quicker, would be to purchase 520,000 Hilton points for $2,740. You would go into the Hilton Honors Points menu when you login to your Hilton Honors account and simply buy the maximum number points from the website. This would require two Hilton Honors accounts as you would be capped to buy 304,000 per calendar year for one account (160,000 points plus a 90% point bonus when you buy at least 3,000 points). You will be able to gift points from a second person’s account for free to combine all of the points! This is a great method if you already collected the welcome bonuses on the Hilton Honors credit cards, or maybe you don’t want to open that many credit cards at once. This alternative will still allow you to earn around 60% off your stay if you were to book the stay using cash!

Method

The very first step is to create a Hilton Honors account if you haven’t so already (free to do). To have the option to buy points you will need wait some time to “qualify” to buy points. This qualifying activity includes either waiting 30 days with account activity (booking hotels or earning & redeeming points) or 90 days with no account activity. When you get to the Hilton Honors Points menu, you will scroll all the way down and click the “Buy Points” option.

Scroll down and click “Buy Points

Select the maximum amount of points that you are able to buy (304,000 [160,000 +144,000] points) for $1,600.00 USD. Hilton currently has a targeted offer where you will get a 90% bonus when buying at least 3,000 points.

Your travel partner will also have to go into their Hilton Honors account and go to the Hilton Honors Points menu to buy points. They will need to buy the 216,600 points option for $1,140.00 USD.

After you have made your purchase, the Hilton Honors points will usually hit your account instantly. Sometimes it will take up to 48 hours, but these instances are usually rare. To combine your points, your travel partner will have select “Pool Points’ in the Hilton Honors Points menu. Combine the points into your account so that you will have a total of 520,600 points to work with!

When you have your points and have decided your dates, you will select either the “Poolside 1 Bedroom Suite” or “Pool View Cottage 1 Bedroom Suite” room type, which is considered their standard room! The “Poolside” type will be a ground floor, while the “Pool View” type will have a balcony.

After selecting the room, you will be able to book 4 nights for 520,000 points, plus an additional fifth night free with Hilton’s “fifth night free” benefit booking with all points! To obtain the fifth free night benefit, you will need to have at least Hilton Honors Silver status.

Fifth night free on reward stays if you have at least Hilton Honors Silver status!

Total Cost

If you did this properly, you should be able to book your 5 night stay at this property for only $2,740 (the cost to buy. 520,000 points)! You can get Hilton Honors Silver status for free if you have the American Express Hilton Honors Credit Card (No Annual Fee) or already have T-Mobile Magenta status (gives you complimentary Hilton Honors Silver).

Again, if you were to book the same dates for 5 nights at the same resort with the same room type, you would have to spend $7,280.91!

Comparing the two costs, the “Buying Hilton Points” method would effectively give you over a 60% discount versus booking the resort with cash!

FAQ Section

  • Unable to Purchase Hilton Points?: As mentioned, being able to buy Hilton points requires a Hilton Honors account (free to sign up) that has been active for 90 days or active for 30 days with account activity (booking a reservation, earning points, or redeeming points).
  • Why is the Point Redemption Much More Expensive?: This method will only work for standard room types.  You will not be able to do this with a premium room type or suite, as the point redemptions are significantly more expensive for this method to make sense.
  • How to Earn “Fifth Night Free” Benefit?: The fifth night free benefit is earned when the Hilton Honors member holds Silver, Gold, or Platinum status.  Some simple ways to earn this status automatically include:
    • Holding the Hilton Honors card (complimentary Silver status), Hilton Honors Surpass card (complimentary Gold status), or Hilton Honors Aspire card (complimentary Platinum status)
    • Holding the American Express Platinum card (complimentary Gold status)
    • Having T-Mobile Magenta status (complimentary Silver status)
    • Requesting a status match with Hilton Honors (for Gold status) if you have a similar status tier with another loyalty program (good for 90 days)
  • Why Can’t I Purchase up to 304,000 Points?: The 90% points bonus is a promotional offer.  If you don’t have this 90% promotion and/or have points limits of 80,000 points per calendar year (versus 160,000), it is possible that you are either:
    • Outside the United States
    • Not targeted for the promo (continue to check your limit as you can sometimes receive the promo at a different time)
  • Do Hilton Points Expire?: Hilton Honors points do expire after 24 months of inactivity (be sure to either reserve nights, earn points through Hilton spend or Hilton Honors credit card spend, or redeem your points to keep your points from expiring)

Important Information to Take Into Consideration

These are important things to keep in mind before booking your trip to Turks and Caicos:

  • This method only takes into account of the expense to book the resort. This does not account for the additional travel expenses that you will have incur (airline, roundtrip transfer to and from airport, food and drink, activities, spa, other incidental costs, etc.). Turks and Caicos is known to be very expensive when it comes to dining options, so take this into consideration before booking!
  • If you have at least Hilton Honors Gold Status (preferable Diamond status), there is a slight chance you could get your room upgraded (especially if you don’t book around peak season).

Conclusion

Although we have never traveled here, Turks and Caicos is definitely a bucket list item! We have thought about a trip here for a “babymoon” stay, and we will most likely use this method to be able to book the resort for much cheaper! We encourage you to try either of these methods or even a mix of the two to be able to stay at this beautiful destination!
